A person on Twitter asked if Google is overwriting your article titles at scale (say, 60% of your articles), could this be perceived as a potential sitewide quality issue.
Google’s Search Advocate, John Mueller, answered this question by saying:
“I wouldn’t consider most of those to be quality signals. Good sites have bad title elements, bad sites have good title elements.”
So, if Google is rewriting your website titles, don’t worry. Because now you know that quality issue is not the reason Google rewrites your titles.
But, you still have to do something so that Google stops rewriting your website titles, or it might impact your click-through rate (CTR) and subsequently the traffic your website receives.
