Now that he owns Twitter, Elon Musk is reportedly planning to charge Twitter users $20 per month for the blue verification badge. Even users who are already verified will have 90 days to subscribe, or they will lose their verified status.
Also, the team on the project were told they have until November 7th to launch the feature, or they will be fired.
According to The Verge, Elon Musk plans to increase the $4.99 a month Twitter Blue fee to $19.99.
Musk did not comment directly on the story, but tweeted on Sunday:
Despite only closing the deal three days ago, Musk has already taken action, first by changing twitter’s homepage for logged out users.
Furthermore, The Washington Post reported on Monday that Musk is planning to let go of 25% of Twitter’s 7,500-person workforce as part of what is expected to be a first round of layoffs.
